To embed a gallery in a post

2) In the post editor, enter in the following tag: [gallery=id] where id is your gallery id number

     example:          [gallery=3]

Create a new issue

Manage > Categories > add new > Add Category

  • Category Name: Spring 2008
  • Category Slug: Spring 2008
  • Category Parent: Archives
  • Category Description: TCNJ Magazine: Spring 2008 Edition

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If you are creating a new issue and want it to be the default main page issue, you must configure some files manually to indicate the change. You need to specify within some code files that the new issue is the default page. See the section "Manual Code Changes - Default Issue".

Manual Code Changes - Default Issue

If you are creating a new issue and want it to be the default main page, you will need to edit a default setting in the following files:

1) index.php
2) header.php
3) sidebar.php
4) category.php

You can edit these files in the wordpress administration section using the theme editor at http://www.tcnjmagazine.com/wp-admin/theme-editor.php.

Navigate to these files.

Within these files near the top, there will be a line saying "CHANGE THIS TO MOST RECENT OR DEFAULT ARCHIVE TO BE DISPLAYED"

Directly to the left of this phrase is the default main page archive. Change this within the double quotes to the default page archive (i.e. "Spring 2010"). Spelling is case-sensitive.

Manual Code Changes - Navigation Bar

It is possible to change the order of the categories on the navigation bar.

To do this, navigate to the file header.php.
You can edit header.php within
administration section using the theme editor at http://www.tcnjmagazine.com/wp-admin/theme-editor.php.

In the file, you will find a line saying: THIS IS WHERE YOU CHANGE THE ORDER OF THE CATEGORIES
You will also find a line saying: $sortArray = array("Features_1", "On Campus_2", "Student Center_3", "In Focus_4", "Lion's Roar_5", "Alumni Corner_6", "Multimedia_7");

This is the line to edit for category arrangement. Simply rearrange the categories using the labeling convention "Category_Order#". As an example:

$sortArray = array("On Campus_1", "Multimedia_2", "Student Center_3", "Features_4", "In Focus_5", "Lion's Roar_6");

This will change the navigation bar with "On Campus" as the first option next to Home, and "Lions Roar" as the last option.
Spelling is case-sensitive.
